PROGRAM
12:30 PM Luncheon with traditional Middle Eastern food, in Yerevan Hall, with opening remarks and display related to the history of Beatrice’s Steinway piano – reservations required for lunch – limited to first 100 registered at hyebar@yahoo.com.
1:30 PM Tribute Program with musical and historical presentations in the Sanctuary, no registration required for the tribute program, which includes live and recorded performances of Beatrice’s works plus reading by local author from her book on Beatrice’s career.
ABOUT THE PROGRAM
The Armenian Cultural Organization of Minnesota (ACOM) presents a celebration of Armenian pianist and composer, Beatrice Ohanessian, in collaboration with Schubert Club and with support from Saint Sahag Armenian Church in Saint Paul. The events begin with a luncheon of traditional Middle Eastern food followed by program featuring pianist Roderick Kettlewell, author Holly Windle, and recordings of Beatrice playing and speaking about her works at a Schubert Club concert in Saint Paul. Beatrice’s Steinway piano, a gift of recognition from the people of Iraq, is part of the musical instrument collection of Schubert Club housed at Landmark Center in St. Paul. In addition to an international concert career, Beatrice taught piano at the University of St. Thomas and the University of Minnesota.
