FELLOWSHIP HALL RENEWAL

Dear Community Members & Friends,

I hope this letter finds you and your family well. It feels great to get back together again as a community at our Armenian Home in Minnesota, at St. Sahag.  I hope to be able to see all of you soon.

Despite all the challenges last year, we were able to continue our work and mission in the community. We have made great progress in our outreach to the community and beyond, helping and serving those in need, making our community and the Church stronger. We give glory to God for all of His blessings and we thank you for all your support throughout these challenging times.

We all know how important St. Sahag is for all of us not only as a building to gather for various occasions but as a Home for all Armenians in Minnesota, North & South Dakotas and even Iowa. We already know how valuable our community is for helping people strengthen their relationships with God and with each other.

I’d like to share with you the new project we have undertaken and hope to complete. For two decades, almost every Sunday we gather together in our fellowship hall to socialize, celebrate our heritage and connect with our community friends. We would like to restore the original beauty of that room by removing the walls that were installed in the 1970s to expose all the windows and flood the room with natural light. This will open up the room in keeping with the design of the parlor and sanctuary.  Additionally, it will make the room larger for our community gatherings. Currently we hold most of our community events downstairs in the Ararat Hall but for many it is difficult to go down that many stairs. Having some of our community events upstairs will make it easier for community members to attend. We plan to change the lighting to a more classic designs, update the flooring with a new floor that is easy to maintain and clean and paint the entire room. The estimated budget for the first phase of this project is $25,000. We have pledges for $10,000.

Please see on the below a vision of what we are hoping to accomplish.

We are going to have a celebratory plaque in the fellowship hall acknowledging your gifts in honor or in memory of your loved ones. We invite you to become a caretaker and builder of our Armenian Home in Minnesota and the upper Midwest by creating a legacy and honoring your ancestors.

Thank you for your support,

Fr. Tadeos Barseghyan
